Celebrating the Holiday Season and Embracing the New Year: A Message from President AHRA

As we continue through the holiday season and prepare to bid farewell to another remarkable year, I find myself reflecting on the incredible journey that we have undertaken together as an association.  It has been a year of challenges, triumphs, transition, and unwavering commitment from each of you.  I am filled with gratitude for the strength of our community and the shared purpose that binds us together.

The holiday season is a time for joy, reflection, and unity. It’s a time to appreciate the camaraderie that defines our association and to express gratitude for the collective effort that propels us forward. AHRA is more than an organization; it is a community of dedicated individuals who share a passion for our mission to educate, develop, mentor, and provide resources to medical imaging professionals. As we gather with loved ones, exchange gifts, and enjoy the festive atmosphere, let us also take a moment to celebrate the connections we’ve forged within our AHRA family.

This past year has been marked by resilience and adaptability. We faced unprecedented challenges that required us to innovate, collaborate, and overcome obstacles together. A perfect example of this includes the hiring of Smithbucklin and our new CEO, Jason Newmark.  The Board of Directors recognized the need to change the way we managed the organization and to think differently on how we meet the needs of our members. Through it all, your commitment to our shared goals has been nothing short of inspiring. Whether it was navigating the complexities of a changing healthcare landscape or embracing new technologies, our collective spirit has been the driving force behind our success.

As we celebrate the holiday season, let us also remember those who may be facing hardships. The spirit of giving is a hallmark of this time of year, and I encourage each of you to find meaningful ways to give back to our communities. Whether through charitable donations, volunteering, or simply spreading kindness, let us extend the warmth of the season to those in need.

Looking ahead to the new year, I am filled with anticipation for the opportunities and challenges that await us. The AHRA Board of Directors met earlier this month to set our goals for this upcoming year. These goals continue to align with our recently developed 5-year strategic plan and will help us drive our vision for AHRA to be THE place imaging leaders come to connect, grow, and enhance their knowledge and skills. The healthcare field is evolving rapidly, and AHRA stands at the forefront of this transformation. In the coming year, we will continue to explore innovative solutions, (such as our enhanced website capabilities and sharing of best practices), to foster collaboration with our corporate partners and other healthcare and imaging specific associations, and advocate for the advancement of medical imaging. Your dedication and expertise will be instrumental in shaping the future of our industry. In next month’s article, I will provide additional details on our specific 2024 goals and priority initiatives.

Don’t forget to join us virtually for our CLIMB conference scheduled for March 21-22, 2024.   This event will provide many opportunities to network and engage with other attendees, as well as attend several fantastic educational and inspirational sessions without having to travel. This is an affordable way to “fill your cup” and continue to learn from each other and our fantastic speakers.  Be on the lookout as more information is added to the AHRA website.

In the spirit of the new year, I encourage each of you to set goals that reflect your aspirations and contribute to the growth of our association. Whether it’s pursuing professional development, earning the CRA designation, engaging in research, or actively participating in AHRA initiatives, your contributions matter. The success of AHRA is a reflection of the collective achievements of its members, and I have no doubt that together, we will reach new heights in the year ahead.

In closing, I want to express my deepest appreciation for the privilege of serving as your President. It is an honor to lead such a dynamic and passionate community and I look forward to the promising future that lies ahead for AHRA.

Wishing you and your loved ones a joyous holiday season and a prosperous New Year.
