Check Out the Basic Management Track at the Annual Meeting

August 2009 — Since this is my time to tell you all about the monthly webinars, I will take this time to pause and say we do not have a webinar in August due to the Annual Meeting. We will have another webinar on September 24 entitled, “Solving the Mystery of Professional and Technical Coding.” I’ll let you know more about this exciting webinar in the September issue of Link.

I’d like to take this time to encourage you all to attend the Annual Meeting in Las Vegas. The conferences that have been secured are phenomenal and we will once again be having the Basic Management track, part of the Leadership Institute, for our members who are new managers or who are thinking of becoming a manager in the imaging field. I will be presenting the budgeting course for the Basic Management track this year and look forward to seeing all of the new managers who are hoping to learn the information needed to successfully navigate departmental budgeting. The Basic Management track is something I have supported since I joined the AHRA back in 2000. Everything I learned was by trial and error and by talking with experienced AHRA members. We’d have “lightning in a bottle” if we could catch that experience and have it all in one place for our younger directors’ and managers’ disposal. That’s the Basic Management track! It is a great concept and has developed into a fantastic program. If you know of anyone who would benefit from this, let them know and tell them to register for the annual meeting. It is going to be another fantastic event!

I look forward to seeing you all in Vegas. With the humidity and the heat that has been blanketing central Florida for the last month, I think I am ready for the Vegas heat! I’ve been conditioning myself on our local baseball fields so I should be ready! Bring it on! See you all there!

  1. I completed the Basic Management track at the 2009 Annual Meeting in Las Vegas. I would definitely recommend it to any new manager. The topics were very relevant to the many challenges that I face in my current job. Thanks, AHRA, for providing this outstanding course!
