Each year, the AHRA Education Foundation, with the support of corporate partners and individual donations, awards Certified Radiology Administrator (CRA) scholarships to medical imaging professionals committed to advancing their careers through the CRA. This year, we proudly recognize three outstanding recipients.

Kathryn Keeler Memorial Scholarship Recipient:

Trudy Faircloth

Kathryn Keeler was a cherished member of the AHRA staff and its longest-serving employee, joining in 2001. She became the CRA Coordinator in 2007, contributing significantly to the growth of the CRA program. Kathryn passed away in 2018 after battling cancer.

To honor her legacy, the Kathryn Keeler Memorial Scholarship was established to help AHRA members afford the CRA exam. The scholarship covers exam and application fees.

RCCS CRA Scholarship Recipient:

Nigel Thomas

Sponsored by Revenue Cycle Coding Strategies (RCCS), these scholarships help cover the costs associated with the CRA exam, making it more accessible to those seeking to elevate their expertise in imaging administration. RCCS’s continued support underscores a strong commitment to fostering excellence in imaging management.

Blancaflor CRA Scholarship Recipient:

Patrick Leslie

The Blancaflor CRA Scholarship supports AHRA military members by covering costs related to obtaining the CRA credential, including books and exam registration fees. It is available for first-time exam takers during the May or November testing periods.

Leslie shared his thoughts on receiving the scholarship:

“I am currently a Director of Radiation Oncology and manage 27 employees. I personally feel that with my CRA, it instills confidence in my staff that I can lead effectively and ensure success in today’s complex healthcare environment.

Pursuing a CRA credential is a vital step in the right direction to demonstrate commitment to my team and credibility to my peers. Currently, studying the materials has reenforced where developing skills in daily operations, quality assurance, and managing diverse teams while staying in State and Government compliance is the mission and goal for quality leadership.”

CRA Scholarship applications are open until Sunday, Aug. 31 for the November exam! Apply now.
