January 2010 — Happy New Year, everyone! Another year and another decade seem to have just flown by. As I am writing this, Congress is coming close to passing the Healthcare Reform bill. The passing of this bill will bring many changes to the healthcare environment.

December 2009 — I recently chaired the AHRA Board of Directors fall meeting in Boston, MA. Just like we do at our places of employment, our association CEO and staff, together with your elected board members, need to make sure we are operating the association within budget, and work hard at assessing the programs and services we deliver.

November 2009 — I never fail to be impressed by the quality of education offered by the AHRA. I recently attended the fall conference, “New Realities, Challenging Times,” in Nashville, TN.

October 2009 — How can it be fall already? For some reason, the summer months always seem to fly by. Fortunately, in California, we typically have warm weather in September and into October, so I can still do some of the warm weather projects I didn’t get around to doing earlier.

September 2009 — Another outstanding annual meeting! I hope those in attendance enjoyed this year’s meeting as much as I did. The educational sessions were as great as ever, the Mandalay Bay venue was fabulous, our vendor partners were there educating us in the exhibit area, supporting our meeting and some of our social functions. We had many great opportunities to network with our friends and colleagues.
