The Personal and Professional Rewards of Serving on the AHRA Board of Directors

The season of AHRA Board Elections is fast approaching! Each year, our members have an opportunity to use their voice by nominating and voting for individuals who will guide the association for the year ahead. If you haven’t yet voted in an AHRA Board Election, now is a great time to start and make the most of this valuable member benefit.

As a board member for multiple years, I’ve had the good fortune to serve as a director and now as AHRA president. My service has been a tremendous gift that was made possible through my AHRA colleagues taking the time to vote.

The AHRA Board of Directors is essential to the success of the association and its ability to provide programs and services for our members. I have served through extremely challenging times, from COVID and its financial pressures to AHRA leadership changes and overall industry shifts. I am proud that we have successfully navigated these storms to emerge stronger and more vibrant than ever! This is due to the board’s tireless efforts, the input we receive from you, our members, and the amazing staff who execute on the association’s direction and strategy.

Beyond supporting the organization, voting is one way to support a colleague’s growth, or even your own. (Self-nominations are accepted during the nomination period early in the year.) Board members are at the forefront of medical imaging management, gaining insights into the latest trends, technologies, and best practices. This exposure enhances expertise and positions board members as leaders in the field. Additionally, board members often have access to unique networking opportunities, connecting with other industry leaders, policymakers, and innovators. These connections can lead to collaborations, career advancements, and a broader influence within the medical imaging industry.

Serving on the AHRA Board of Directors provides individuals with the opportunity to help shape the future of medical imaging management. AHRA works closely with many other professional organizations and proudly takes a leadership role in fostering discussions and collaboration on key industry initiatives.
