Leadership & Workforce Management

Reflecting on Our Legacy and Looking Forward

As I reflect on this year's AHRA Annual Meeting, one word comes to mind: momentum. The energy and drive from this year’s event remind us that our association is moving forward with purpose, continually advancing the field of medical imaging management.

This year’s meeting wasn’t just about celebrating where we’ve been, but about propelling us toward an exciting future together. Coming off an incredibly successful event, I am reminded of the profound impact this organization continues to have on our profession. This year's meeting was not just a gathering of the flock — it was a celebration of our accomplishments, our resilience, and our bright future together. I was inspired by the energy, networking, and shared commitment to driving our industry forward. From innovative sessions to invaluable connections made, the Annual Meeting once again proved that AHRA remains a leader in advancing medical imaging management.

This momentum does not stop with the Annual Meeting. AHRA’s Living Our Legacy campaign has already become the most successful campaign in our association's history, further underscoring the strength of our membership and the support we receive from our partners. Together, we are not only preserving the legacy of those who came before us, but we are actively building the foundation for the future. The success of this campaign is a testament to our collective effort, and I could not be prouder to lead this organization at such a pivotal time.

Our partnerships with other associations remain a cornerstone of our success. By continuing to align with like-minded organizations, we will grow and move our industry forward in ways that benefit all of us. Collaboration is key, and we will continue to strengthen these relationships to support the development of our members and the industry at large. In the coming year, AHRA will participate with many other organizations to put into action the framework introduced in “Mapping the Future of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy,” a white paper from the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT), with a particular focus on developing pathways to leadership.

In the year ahead, there is so much to look forward to. AHRA will launch data-driven tools to help us better collaborate and share best practices. The Leaders of Choice program, sponsored by United Imaging, is growing and evolving. We are also assessing how to renew our Partners in Learning program, finding opportunities for members to connect and learn from each other. This is in addition to AHRA’s Mentoring for Success program, supported by GE HealthCare, which we expect to see growth in as well. And while signs of fall are just starting to show, we’re already busy thinking about our upcoming spring virtual conference and local area meetings.

During my address at the Annual Meeting, I emphasized the importance of YOU — our talented and dedicated members. It is through your hard work and commitment that AHRA has thrived for over 50 years. As we look ahead, I am excited to witness the impact each of you will make in your professional lives and within our communities. Together, we will continue to "live our legacy" and build the future of medical imaging leadership. We need YOU to make this all happen.

Thank you for your unwavering support, your passion, and your dedication to this great association.
