Passing the Torch: AHRA Thought Leadership Enters Its Next Era
As we near the end of our association year, I have reflected on the amazing progress our Editorial Review Committee has achieved over time. When I began as the editor in chief for Radiology Management, we were still in print, and we were struggling with content submissions. Over the past two years, we have worked to grow content and elevate AHRA as the thought leader in this industry.
Initially, we began looking at our content in a different, more diverse way to enhance the quality and quantity of what we brought to our readers. The team spent significant time recruiting new and different voices. Once we increased the pipeline of content, we adjusted focus to our delivery mechanism.
The initial opportunity presented by our AHRA Board was to enable our content on a dedicated digital platform. This was a significant change for all, with positive and negative implications. While the new platform was positively embraced by our readers, it also enabled us to develop KPIs that ensured we were meeting their needs more closely.
Next, we focused on the opportunity to integrate our work into LINK, AHRA’s official online publication. This evolution has allowed us to significantly enhance access to the great thought leadership provided by experts. Through this initiative, we have aligned our content to improve our position as thought leaders in medical imaging. LINK is becoming a desired destination for readers and content providers.
As we transition into a new association year, I will step into a new role as past chair for the Editorial Review Committee and am excited to announce our new chair will transition to Stefanie Manack.
Stefanie has been a phenomenal member of this team for several years, making this a natural transition to pass the torch. She is working to refine her goals and will begin her tenure at the end of the AHRA 2026 Annual Meeting. She is surrounded by a strong team of AHRA volunteers and staff that will continue to bring great content in innovative ways to further enhance our mission as leaders in this industry.
It has been an honor and privilege to serve this team, and I cherish the time I have invested over the past few years. I am excited to see the growth and progress we will accomplish in the next few years. A special kudos and thank you to Kristin Frankiewicz, our AHRA staff liaison who has been an amazing partner in our adventure.
