It is hard to believe that our 50th Annual AHRA meeting is only 9 days away. If you have not registered yet, online registration is closed, but onsite registration is easy and fast, and I would love to see you in Phoenix this year. It is even more incredible to realize how quickly time has flown by – it feels like only yesterday that I shared my first President’s message with all of you. Now, as we prepare to come together in Phoenix for a week of education, networking, and comradery, I have been reflecting on some of our most recent accomplishments and hoping that I helped to make a positive impact this past year for you, our members.
This past year has been difficult for all of us for many different reasons, and I am certain at times it has been challenging to remain positive in the face adversity. One of the things that has helped to fill my cup and bring me hope this past year is my AHRA community and the amazing teamwork that we demonstrate everyday across our healthcare systems to care for those we serve. Being part of a team also means being open to the ideas of others and inviting all members of the team into the conversation to share thoughts on how we can continually grow and improve together. I have seen you, our members, demonstrate this countless times throughout this past year, so thank you for inspiring me and for helping to fill my cup. I encourage you to continue to be role models for our future imaging leaders.
With the support of our talented and devoted AHRA Staff, the new CRA Pathway membership option was created to help those interested in earning the CRA Credential.
We completed our first extensive Member Survey since 2017. The results of this survey help guide our actions in delivering what you need and want for years to come. The CRA credential was high on the list of reasons for belonging to AHRA. We are here to support you in this endeavor any way we can!
Plans are already underway for our second AHRA CLIMB: the Conference for Leadership in Imaging Management & Business. By the way, Save the Date for Feb 24-26 in the stunning Mission Bay Resort in San Diego in 2023!
And I am very excited about our brand new AHRA Leaders of Choice Program, a year-long advanced education program that is launching during our 50th Annual meeting in a half-day opening session, and running through to its final half-day closing session, member presentations, and graduation at our AHRA 2023 Annual meeting.
This is a new pathway for experienced leaders seeking to sharpen their business skills in preparation for C-suite level positions, and to become the highly confident, knowledgeable managers needed in today’s complex and challenging healthcare environment.
We are lucky to have the assistance of United Imaging and David Waldron of Traction Business Development. Both are change-makers interested in developing bold leaders who are willing and able to manage change fearlessly.
For those of you who might remember, in my first President’s message, I shared how Humble And Kind by Tim McGraw had become one of my favorite new songs. My “why” is even more true now. In his song, Tim McGraw says, “When the work you put in is realized, let yourself feel the pride but always stay humble and kind..” When you get where you’re going don’t forget turn back around and help the next one in line – Always stay humble and kind.”
I will be forever humbled by and grateful for the trust that you our AHRA members placed in me this past year. I also look forward to continuing to support our future leaders and will continue to invest in developing others and advancing the profession of medical imaging. It has been my honor to serve as your AHRA President. Thank you for all that you do every day for those you serve.
