The other day, during our December board call, we spent time together sharing our family holiday traditions that we enjoy this time of year. It was fun spending time together learning more about one another and hearing these special, deep-rooted family traditions (i.e., new matching Christmas pajamas for the entire family, opening one present on Christmas Eve, having a special breakfast every Christmas morning, or signing Christmas carols together as a family). What was even more special about this time we spent together was the recognition of how much we all have in common when it comes to how we celebrate this holiday season.
These differences and similarities, in how we celebrate the holidays, also got me thinking about the diversity in careers and career paths amongst our AHRA board of directors, AHRA members and how the AHRA can support the diverse professional growth and development needs of our AHRA family.
A new tradition that I am VERY EXCITED about for this coming year, designed to support the vast professional growth and develop career needs of our AHRA family members is our newly redesigned Spring meeting, CLIMB: the conference for leadership in imaging management and business.
CLIMB has something for everyone, regardless of where you are on your career path, and the AHRA is here to help you reach your peak. As your 2021-22 AHRA President, my vision and one of my main goals is to ensure we are providing you with the tools, resources, and connections that you need to reach the level that you desire both personally and professionally. This conference is a great new piece to the overall plan and part of my vision for our combined success.
As this article began with how good it was to share traditions, I would love for you, in the comments, to share how you’re feeling right now about “climbing the ladder of success.” Are you surefooted? Looking for a boost? Experiencing fear of heights (i.e., success), perhaps? CLIMB will be a great place to continue the conversation, and find what you need to help assure upward mobility.
