I want to say thank you to AHRA and to express my gratitude for the Education Foundation’s Royce R. Osborn Memorial Scholarship for the opportunity to attend my first AHRA Convention in beautiful Nashville, Tennessee. My boss and mentor Carolyn Packard has been an AHRA member since 2015. She was the one that had me become a member and then recommended I apply for the Osborn Scholarship. What an amazing feeling when I received the phone call that I had been chosen!!
There were so many interesting sessions and workshops to choose from that I had a very hard time making a decision. Truly, I wanted to attend most all of them. The keynote speakers were not only motivational but extremely entertaining and added so much to the purpose of this Convention.
I was in awe of the great leaders AHRA had chosen to speak for us. Each one had valuable knowledge and experience, and the way it was presented kept me engaged and interested. I left Nashville with a renewed excitement for my job and the possibilities of what will come through the new resources, amazing exhibitors and many friends I made. I have already contacted and been contacted by many of people I met at the Convention!!
My takeaway from this experience is that I have gained invaluable resources, made new friends and have a renewed outlook on what I would like to implement in my job and facility. It takes tremendous work from the AHRA volunteers, speakers, and exhibitors to put something like this together and I thank you all for this tremendous experience.
