As all of us do at the end of a journey, we reflect on the adventure, and I want to share some of the adventure the AHRA has been on for the past year. In early 2020, Chris Tomlinson kept us all focused on being as successful as possible during a pandemic and we are truly grateful for that leadership. As we ended 2020, we finished a strategic plan that will propel us into the future and finalized the virtual office. We identified collaborative opportunities to help grow our association and our influence throughout the industry. As if that wasn’t enough, in early 2021 we transitioned corporate donations to AHRA and memberships to an annual calendar. Then, Dan and the team transitioned our financial system to a new more flexible and modern platform.
In the spring, we welcomed Anita Touring to our team to enhance our work on education and we started the Past President’s Advisory Council. We rebalanced the AHRA team as well as the Radiology Management Journal. The board also used opportunities that presented themselves over the year to enhance our knowledge and work for the association. Our board grew as leaders for the association with increased satisfaction over the year along with the staff satisfaction. The annual financial audit revealed that despite the pandemic, AHRA improved almost all its financial ratios. Although, much of this was due to decreased expenses, it was a significant achievement during a very difficult year. Our membership also returned to pre-pandemic levels and we are going to be live next month in Nashville!
Kudos to the entire AHRA team, the board, the design teams, all our committees, our industry partners and our members, who have made this a successful journey in a very difficult and uncertain time. It has been an honor and privilege to serve with these teams to continue to fulfill our mission and purpose. I hope that each of you have had a successful year as well. Thank you all for being fearless leaders who charged into the fight with Covid and assisted others along the way. AHRA is and will continue to be the association of choice for leaders interested in improving the outcomes of our customers! I will always cherish this journey together and look forward to the amazing achievements yet to come!
