Although February is the shortest month of the year, we certainly pack a great deal into it. From Black History month to American Heart month, Valentine’s Day, President’s Day and Groundhog Day, and every four years, we celebrate Leap year! Then there’s the less popular National Galentine’s Day, National Friends Day, National Drink Wine Day, National Margarita Day and of course the Super Bowl. February is packed with amazing celebrations. I would like to also celebrate our amazing writers.
Over the years, we have had a plethora of great articles, columns and editorials written by our members, vendors and friends. The team behind our journal and the review board, work tirelessly to bring us great journals every year. Writing is a great way to pay it forward and I encourage everyone to try their hand at creating a piece of art to share. I know that writing can be frightening, and the process is very intimidating. The first thing that went through my mind was fear and trepidation. I couldn’t imagine myself creating a manuscript that anyone would want to read, and look, now I create monthly posts. That writing experience enabled me to get out of my comfort zone and experience yet another frontier, and my first article won the Gary Boyd Award for Outstanding Article of the Year! Who knew.
So, during this month of many celebrations, add an opportunity to get out of your comfort zone and experience writing as it truly transforms your life when you create an amazing article. So many of our leaders have wisdom and knowledge to share and writing enables you to share it, along with conquering that frontier. The team behind Radiology Management will help. Between Laurie and Carrie, they will work with you to create an article that will be outstanding. All articles are peer reviewed and the Editorial Review Board (ERB) is there to help ensure your article is the very best it can be. Check out the Instruction for Authors and get in touch with Laurie or Carrie at RadiologyManagement@ahra.org to get started. This amazing team will guide you every step of the way, regardless of your writing skill or knowledge of style guidelines.
However, if writing really isn’t your thing, you can still help pay it forward by seeking out another leader to write for the journal. We are looking for articles based on Imaging best practices, new processes, new programs, leadership content, and other ideas that our leaders are doing to bring great care to their customers. Reach out to other leaders, educators, and vendors who might be interested in submitting manuscripts that will benefit the Imaging community. Also, keep your eye on the Journal as we are evaluating ideas to improve not only content, but the entire experience. Members can currently receive the journal in print or digital edition. Non-members can also subscribe and receive the same great content. And think about sharing your talent with the Journal or its creation behind the scene. There are many opportunities to get involved, so don’t be shy and let us celebrate you!
