KUDOS AHRA Volunteers For Your Contributions, Commitment and Gift Giving

During National Volunteer Week, I’m honored to have this opportunity to thank the countless volunteers for their contributions to the medical imaging profession. Each year, hundreds of AHRA’s members contribute their time, talents, and creativity to serve the organization in various capacities. The aggregate of their commitment is immeasurable. I’d like to start by thanking this year’s President, our Board of Directors, Conference Design Teams, Link and Radiology Management Authors, Local Area Meeting Organizers, Committee Members, and the Education Foundation. Their commitment provides imaging professionals across the nation with essential resources, support and networking opportunities, to improve our healthcare environment.

It’s always encouraging to hear an AHRA volunteer answer why they do it. Overwhelmingly the responses are: “It’s an opportunity to give back to an organization I believe in.” “It’s a rewarding experience,” or “it challenges me to grow and be involved.” “It creates endless connections across the organization.”

I’ve been a member of AHRA for many years, but it was not until recently that I’ve challenged myself to become more involved. Since receiving the  Annual Meeting Scholarship in 2013, I’ve continued to serve the organization in some capacity each year. Mostly, by providing on-site support during conferences, serving on Design Teams, and occasionally writing articles for Link. This year, a new door opened and I have the pleasure of serving on the 2019 Annual Appeal Committee.

The Education Foundation and Annual Appeal Committee is made up of compassionate, driven leaders, who are devoted to raise funds to further enhance educational and scholarship opportunities for AHRA members. The Broadly Scholarship, Osborn Scholarship, Annual Meeting Scholarships, and Putting Patients First Program are just a few of the opportunities these funds support.

The 2019 Annual Appeal campaign kicked off in January. To date, our members have committed $19,542 of the $30,000 goal.  It’s always nice to head into the Annual Meeting demonstrating to our Corporate Annual Appeal Partners; Bracco, Nuance, Bayer, InternU, Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC), and to our many devoted Defining our Future Campaign Partners that a healthy portion of our AHRA members have contributed to the appeal, so let’s increase member participation!

Similar to volunteering, donations can be made at a variety of levels. Join me in helping our appeal increase its membership participation by joining one of the contributing circles below. Click here to donate now!

Contribution levels:

Legacy Circle $500 and above
Cornerstone Circle $250- $449
Leadership Circle $100-$249
Patron Circle $40-$99
Friend Circle Less than $40

Once again, KUDOS to our AHRA volunteers and thank you for all you do. If this sparks an interest in volunteering, you can sign up on the AHRA site.
