Top 10 #AHRA2018 Moments

The 2018 Annual Meeting was held July 22-25 in Orlando, FL. Here are our top 10 moments from the meeting – add yours in the comments!

1. 3 Top Notch Keynotes

Attendees experienced three fantastic keynotes, each with an important takeaway. Kevin Brown kicked off the week with a discussion of what makes a hero. “Mr. Delicious” perfectly blended humor with emotional stories about his autistic son, challenging attendees to look in the mirror and think about the people they see reflected back at them – the heroes who have shaped who they are.

On day 2, Colette Carlson had attendees roaring with laughter with her demonstration of a typical day for a radiology administrator, and also provided important tips for making connections with your staff and your patients.

And finally, Todd Henry shared some purposeful practices attendees can use to set themselves up to have great ideas, even under pressure.

2. Informative and Reenergizing Breakout Sessions

AHRA 2018 offered a breakout session for just about every topic, including the patient experience, regulatory updates, coding, staffing, managing workplace conflict, and much more! What session was your favorite?

3. New Member and First Time Attendee Reception

Over 90 new attendees were able to meet with members of the board of directors and the annual meeting design team. Thank you, West Physics, for sponsoring this great reception!

4. Awards Reception

This special reception on Tuesday night honored award recipients, new Fellows, and scholarship recipients. Click here for more information.

5. CRA Reception

An always-popular event, Monday’s CRA reception was full of live entertainment, great conversation, and the ever-growing CRA group photo.

6. Over $7,100 Raised for the Education Foundation

Between the 19^th Annual Imaging Classic Golf Tournament, a raffle, and other member donations, over $7,100 was raised from members to support the AHRA Education Foundation (EF).

7. Recognizing Our Military Members

Monday, July 23 was uniformed military day – any military member who showed up in uniform was offered complimentary one-day access to the conference. There were also special designated tables for military members at Sunday’s President’s reception and Monday’s lunch in the exhibit hall, to facilitate networking between our military members. Thank you for your service!

8. Big Winners in the Exhibit Hall

While visiting with our many wonderful exhibitors during lunch, attendees had several opportunities to win cash prizes. Congratulations to our Hot Spot winners, who each received $300: Robert Whitehead, Denise Rusler, Tom Jessie, James Scrivner, Jerrilyn McNary, and Bruce Lauer! Congratulations are also extended to Darlene Laprade, the winner of $500 for completing the Product Showcase Passport!

9. Vendor Symposiums

Our vendor-sponsored symposiums were a huge hit, with several of the rooms being reported as standing-room-only by attendees. Topics covered included artificial intelligence, contrast safety, incorporating 3D, imaging market update, and pediatric imaging.

10. Super Bash

AHRA 2018 attendees ended the week in style with a superhero themed closing party! Party goers sported their best superhero costumes to enjoy food, drink, and dancing the night away to an awesome live band.
