Attending #AHRA2018? Here’s how to get the most out of it

Posted by

The 46th AHRA Annual Meeting and Exposition is almost here. It’s a remarkable four days to be inspired, get educated, and make connections with a community that truly understands the challenges of working in medical imaging. Whether you’re an Annual Meeting veteran or this year will be your first one, here are 7 things you should know to get the most out of your attendance:

1. Stay in the Loop Through the App and Social Media

Don’t miss out on any of the action. Navigate the conference and get important information about all the activities waiting for you through the AHRA Events app, and follow AHRA on Twitter/Instagram/Facebook. To stay up to date with speakers, vendors, and attendees follow the hashtag #AHRA2018.

Pro tip: While navigating the conference, turn on your steps counter! New for 2018, Sectra is sponsoring an AHRA steps challenge – attendees have the opportunity to win amazing prizes just for being active!

2. Don’t Skip the Exhibit Hall

The industry’s top vendors will be exhibiting at AHRA 2018, ready to share their knowledge. Talk with them at their booths, walk around the Exhibit Hall, and discover the latest innovations to bring back to your facility. Plus – this is where your complimentary lunch will be served!

Pro tip: When you arrive, check your conference tote bag for your Product Showcase Passport and read up on what booths are designated Hot Spots; both of these #AHRA2018 perks will help you win cold, hard cash and awesome prizes!

3. Keep Your Business Cards Readily Available

One of the biggest perks of AHRA 2018 is the unlimited networking opportunities waiting for you. Whether you’re at a reception or walking to your next session, you never know who you’ll strike up a conversation with that can make an impact on your career. Being able to exchange business cards will come in handy when you get back to the office!

Pro tip: Break the ice and start a conversation with someone about a common badge ribbon you may have. *All conference ribbons will be available at the ribbon wall next to registration.

4. Make Time for the Exhibitor Symposiums

The exhibitor symposiums have become an integral part of the Annual Meeting as they give you the unique opportunity to be on the leading edge of technology with industry experts.

Pro tip: Attend 3 or more symposiums to be entered to win a free 2019 Annual Meeting registration (a $675 value)!

5. Try Your Luck to Win Great Prizes

There will be remarkable raffle prizes up for grabs this year including a Hitachi Toolkit, 2019 Annual Meeting registration, and a Nikon COOLPIX B700 4K Wi-Fi Digital Camera Bundle.  Purchasing raffle tickets ($5 for 1 or $20 for 10) from the AHRA Education Foundation (EF) will test your luck but also help the EF create even more educational opportunities.

Pro tip: Bring return address labels with you to make filling out your raffle tickets a breeze!

6. Purchase Your Disney Park Tickets in Advance

Whether you’re bringing your family or you’re a kid a heart, you can explore the most magical place on earth at special AHRA 2018 attendee pricing. To learn more and take advantage of this offer, please call 407-566-5600 or CLICK HERE. Please note the cut-off date for advance purchase savings is July 21st and will NOT be available on-site.

7. Fly, Swoop, or Rappel into the Closing Party

It wouldn’t be an AHRA Annual Meeting without the closing celebration party. This year we’re asking you to help us defeat the ‘end of conference blues’ by breaking out your special dancing powers and indulging in a super-sized array of food and drink. Costumes are encouraged, but not mandatory.

If you haven’t already registered to enjoy these perks at AHRA 2018, on-site registration will be available at the Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center. Learn more at: www.ahra.org/annualmeeting.
