As my current 3 year term as a director on the AHRA Board of Directors is coming to an end, I would like to continue my involvement and support of AHRA by serving as president of the AHRA Board of Directors. I have a passion for supporting AHRA’s team-centered approach to continuously improving and advancing the development of professional leadership in medical imaging management. I believe that this type of attitude and commitment can truly make a difference in the success of an organization.
As an advocate of continuing education and lifelong learning, I see this as an opportunity to assist in providing our members with educational opportunities related to professional leadership growth and development.
I have been a radiology administrator for 18 of my 28 years in the field. I believe my years of experience and my educational background can help bring new ideas for future growth to AHRA, our membership, and the imaging profession. I am truly confident that the more we continue to learn and grow, the stronger we become personally and professionally.

I feel the goal is service to our members and our profession. I believe I have a vision for positioning imaging leaders for success within their health systems and the larger healthcare industry. I have significant industry credibility as a thought leader, having published and presented on many imaging topics. I have held most leadership positions within AHRA, including the Education Foundation, the fundraising arm of AHRA. I can also provide continuity in leadership as I have participated in the strategic planning process, currently serve on the board, the EF board, as the Finance Director through audits, financial planning, and investments, on the Executive Committee of the board; and I co-lead the fundraising “Defining Our Future” campaign. This allows me to “hit the ground running” and not waste time coming up to speed with the issues facing the association. I would also like to get our members more involved in the leadership and work of the association. While our leadership does a nice job driving the organization forward, it often feels very insular and that a primary group of people run the organization. I believe in diversity of leadership and want to involve many more members in the leadership and running of the association. This not only allows the association to be more responsive to the needs of the members, it also allows the members to build their resumes and experience for progression in their professional journey. The bottom line is we, as imaging leaders, need to drive our profession and continue be valued members of the leadership of our organizations and the primary resource to do that is AHRA.

I have been active in radiology leadership for 16 years, and throughout this time there have been many challenges we have faced in our field. I feel our AHRA organization has addressed these challenges head on, and I would be honored to help continue this tradition. As healthcare continues to face uncertainties, we need to make sure we are learning from the past, actively listening in the current, and leading for the future.
My reasons for seeking a position on the board of directors are very simple. First, I am looking to give back to an organization that has made a tremendous impact on my career and continues to do so. Secondly, I want to be a part of the leadership team as we continue to face the uncertainties and make sure our mission and purpose meets the needs of our members. Lastly, I want to help promote our organization to make sure everyone is aware of who we are, and what our goals are. These reasons are vital to our overall success as we continue to build partnerships throughout many endeavors.
I will contribute as a member of the board by offering ideas, challenging us to think bigger, and recognizing everyone has uniqueness they bring to the team.
As a board member, I will be engaged in executing the strategic plan and organizational goals. I understand the members’ needs and will work to assure these are met. I will serve you, the membership, and help our organization move forward to grow to new heights. My commitment will allow AHRA to continue to flourish as the leading organization for medical imaging management. AHRA has been my passion for the past 12 years – I know this is the greatest organization and I am proud to be a part of it.

AHRA has been such a wonderful resource to me for many years, and I would like the opportunity to give back to AHRA by participating on the board of directors. I truly appreciate AHRA and what it has to offer to imaging leaders. With over 30 years of imaging experience, I am very knowledgeable about pressing topics in our field. I attribute my knowledge and growth as a leader to AHRA. The most useful radiology management training I have received has come from Annual Meetings and from AHRA mentors. I feel it is important to promote membership of AHRA to keep our profession strong and to have appropriate resources for our members.
Our AHRA Board of Directors has done a tremendous job setting and meeting goals, and I expect that to continue. If I am elected to the AHRA Board of Directors, my goals will be: 1) to promote and support the CRA credential, 2) to listen to our members so that AHRA’s goals and objectives line up with the members’ needs, 3) to raise awareness about many AHRA educational offerings and the value of each one, and 4) support collaborative efforts with other organizations who offer education and resources to imaging leaders.

As a current director of the AHRA board, we have a responsibility to enhance the experience of every member; allowing for information sharing which creates stronger leaders and stronger organizations. We have accomplished wonderful things together with our members, and I’m looking to continue this growth. A strong organization can only be built by a strong membership, and we are growing! From the first time supervisor, to the highly experienced and accomplished leader, I take responsibility to hear what is on your mind, ensure your needs are met, and to provide you with the tools necessary to grow.
My ongoing contribution to the board of directors is to be your voice, maintain and expand the organization in a strong, positive financial position, and be ready for a rapidly changing future. Having served previously in an executive role, I understand the challenges facing us today and believe together we can persevere.

It would be a privilege to serve my profession on the AHRA Board of Directors. My motivation is to widen my impact on quality patient care. I believe that leadership in imaging is critical to the continued growth and success for all imaging professionals. We all know that healthcare in general, and imaging in particular, are under intense pressure from regulatory and reimbursement perspectives. In this climate a strong, united, and educated leadership community is needed. I feel that I have the passion, drive, motivation, and love for this profession to partner with AHRA membership to drive our objectives forward. I pride myself on leading with integrity, shared mission, and teamwork. I have a passion for education and am currently enrolled both at USC Keck School of Medicine Executive Leadership program (June 2018 completion) and Southern California University pursuing a Doctorate in Business Administration (2020 completion). I have served AHRA in multiple capacities including the Editorial Review Board, Membership Committee, and Rapid ReviewTM Committee. I am also active in ACHE, SCHE (Southern California Healthcare Executives), CHEF (Chicago Healthcare Executive Forum), and HFMA. I have held a board position with CHEF and was chairman of the communications committee. I also have been speaking nationally on leadership strategies to contribute to the growth of my profession. I have volunteered extensively in youth sports organizations and founded and served on the executive board of a large youth sports organization and also on my community’s Youth Sports Council, which was a collaboration between school officials, park district, and local youth sports leaders. I appreciate the opportunity and look forward to serving together to advance the healthcare of our communities and the professional lives of our membership.

It has been my honor and privilege to serve the AHRA family on the board of directors for the past three years. During that time, we have many successful accomplishments such as our powerful Fall, Spring, and Annual Meetings, Education Foundation successes, launching the Defining Our Future campaign, support of our strategic plan, and the tremendous work of the Regulatory Affairs Committee. These initiatives are designed to support you and the challenging work you do every day. There are still many opportunities to fulfill our mission to be the top resource and catalyst for the development of professional leadership in medical imaging management and to ensure AHRA is the association of choice for leaders of medical imaging. During the past three years, I have served you on the board as well as on the Executive Committee, the Finance Committee, and the Regulatory Affairs Committee. If you so choose, I would be honored to represent you for another term on the board of directors. I will commit to bringing you the resources and information you need to be the best imaging administrator possible. And together we will tackle opportunities to propel us farther in our journey to serve our higher purpose.

I want to play a role in helping to develop AHRA for the future. I feel that my diverse leadership background gives me the knowledge and experience necessary to sit as a member of the board. I have been an active, committed member of the organization since 2001, having served on committees, volunteered at conferences, and worked alongside many of the truly wonderful leaders of this organization. I am currently on the Design Team for the 2018 Annual Meeting. I will continue to be engaged and support the goals and plans of the association as we strive to grow the membership. (There is truly strength in numbers!) I will be a strong advocate for the RACC and the CRA credential.
AHRA has been a vital part of growth and development, not only for me personally but for many outstanding leaders in imaging. I am honored to be a part of this association.
There are so many great Board candidates again this year. Our organization is truly blessed to have so many great leaders that are willing to volunteer for the good of the profession. Please take a stand, play a part and vote in this years election! I challenge the membership to make this the highest voting turnout in the AHRA. See you in Orlando!
Please exercise your voice and vote! It is only through your guidance that the board can make amazing things happen for you!
There are so many great imaging leaders, it is so difficult to choose! I would encourage everyone to vote. Let’s make this the best association ever!
