Hello everyone! Can you believe the 2017 Annual Meeting is now just over a week away? I assume you have registered, made your reservations, and maybe even bought new clothes. But did you remember to make your donation to the Education Foundation (EF)? It’s still not too late to do so before the meeting if you would like! The money donated will benefit YOU! How, you ask? As an example, three of this year’s meeting attendees, Tina Checchia, Elisa Condon, and Wendy Renneke, are recipients of the EF’s Osborn Scholarship, which covered their registration fees and provided a stipend for their travel expenses.
I want to give you a brief update on the progress of the Annual Appeal Committee. The committee set a goal to raise $30,000 before the Annual Meeting. I am proud to announce that we have raised $27,686.83 from 168 donors as of June 23! This group of imaging leaders has done an outstanding job. They have worked hard and really believed they could do it! Once again, I would like to thank the 2017 Appeal Committee: Cathy Story, Terry Bucknall, Tom Wells, Tonya Brightmon, John Beall, Zach Hopkins, Wanda Coker, Tom Wall, Larry Leopold, Michael Connelly, Kristen Polenz, Gus Trinidad, and Jory Vidulich-Savino. Without them, all this could not have been possible.
If you are attending the Annual Meeting, we will be raffling off some spectacular prizes, to be revealed on site! Tickets are $5 each or 10 for $20. When you’re packing your bag for the meeting, bring a sheet of those free address labels that we all get in the mail; you can use them instead of writing your name on all of the tickets you buy!
Another EF-related activity at the Annual Meeting is our Imaging Classic Golf Tournament. It takes place on Sunday morning at the Black Gold Golf Course, where you’ll be able to network between swings and get some beautiful views of Orange County, CA. The registration fee includes greens fees, transportation, continental breakfast, and lunch. Players may enter individually, or as part of a team. The tournament, a scramble format, will be followed by an awards ceremony and lunch. Last year we raised approximately $12,000 for the EF at this tournament – let’s try to top that!
In closing, I would like to leave one thought with all of you. If we raised over $27,686.38 from 168 donors, can you even imagine what we could raise if our entire membership, which is 5,520 members strong, gave just $40 each? You do the math!
