The Radiology Administration Certification Commission (RACC) is pleased to announce the results of the recent commissioner elections. Curtis R. Bush, CRA, and Cindy M. Winter, CRA, FAHRA, have each been elected to serve their first terms on the RACC, and Bette Drescher, CRA, has been re-elected to serve a second term. In addition, this October, RACC Public Commissioner Sheryl M. Jackson was unanimously re-elected by the RACC to serve a second term.
Curt Bush is the director of radiology and imaging services at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. A CRA since 2012, Curt has been an active mentor in leadership skills and CRA preparation. He’s a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and has served on AHRA’s Product Development Committee, volunteered at AHRA Annual Meetings, coordinated an AHRA Area Meeting, and has written several articles for Link and Radiology Management. As an RACC commissioner, Curt is particularly interested in the CRA’s role in the changing healthcare landscape.
Cindy Winter is the director of medical imaging at Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare in Tallahassee, Florida. After retiring as a member of the United States Merchant Marines and US Coast Guard, Cindy began a second career in imaging and earned her CRA in 2005. Cindy has been an item writer for the CRA exam and the ARDMS Breast Registry exam; represented the AHRA as liaison the Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers; served on AHRA’s Curriculum Committee focusing on the Basic Management Track curriculum for new and aspiring supervisors and managers; organized the AHRA Big Bend Florida Area Meeting last March; and volunteered at AHRA Annual Meetings. She received the AHRA Award for Excellence in 2013 and became an AHRA Fellow earlier this year. Cindy considers the CRA an important part of her career path.
Bette Drescher is the service line director at Group Health Cooperative in Bellevue, Washington. She’s been a CRA since 2010 and a member of the RACC since January 2014. In her time on the RACC, she’s worked on exam review, item writing, and cut score setting and served on several RACC Nominations Committees as a member and as Chair. Bette was elected 2015 RACC Secretary/Treasurer and is currently Vice-Chair of the Commission. Bette’s own experience as a CRA has provided inspiration for her to encourage others to pursue the credential.
Sheryl Jackson, a resident of Orangeburg, South Carolina, is an experienced consultant who brings to the RACC a wealth of experience in development, planning, and solution architecture, particularly in the healthcare environment. She is a member of the American College of Healthcare Administrators of N. Texas and she is also a Board Member serving Empowering Women as Leaders as Director of Governance, an organization that supports women in achieving their highest potential through education, mentoring, and networking. In addition to taking active part in RACC discussions and helping the RACC look at issues from a the viewpoint of someone outside of imaging administration, Sheryl has written numerous article about the CRA and management topics for Link and serves on the RACC Marketing Committee. Sheryl’s experience and enthusiasm have been important assets to the RACC, and the Commission looks forward to continuing to work with Sheryl in the future.
