The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) was one of the three recipients of the pediatric program grants from the 2013 AHRA & Toshiba Putting Patients First program. Their grant project is called “Brave Kid Capes/Super Hero Support,” and will help minimize the anxiety that younger patients often sense when undergoing radiology imaging examinations.
CHOP was recently contacted by the students at West Broad Street Elementary in Souderton, PA who held a superhero themed “spring walk” to raise money for charity. CHOP was their designated charity this year, and when they found out about the superhero-themed project that CHOP was doing as part of their Putting Patients First grant, they elected to donate the $2,155 they had raised directly to that program.
We are thrilled to see the impact that the Putting Patients First program had on this community! Thank you to Chris Tomlinson, MBA, CRA of CHOP for sharing this wonderful news with us. And an extra congratulations to CHOP for making the newly released 2014-15 US News top children’s hospitals list!
